Schedule a class on the fly

When to use this procedure

Follow the steps below to schedule a class for a student directly from the Scheduling window.

Steps to complete

  1. On the Scheduling window, right click in an open time slot and click Create New Class. The Pick Customer window displays.
  2. Highlight a customer and click Select (if necessary, create a new customer). The Select Student window displays.
  3. Highlight a student and click Select (if necessary, create a new student). The Select Schedule Information window displays.

Steps 4-10 are optional, but it is likely you will need to complete at least some of them.

  1. Appointments, Location, Instructor, and Areas are automatically selected based on your selections on the Scheduling window. Change these as necessary.
  2. Change the class description in the Description box, if necessary.
  3. Update the Minimum and Maximum boxes to reflect the minimum number of students required to hold this class and the maximum number of students you can schedule for this class.
  4. Verify the billing frequency and rate are correct in the Billing Type and Rate boxes.
  5. The Begin Date defaults to the date of the time slot you selected on the Scheduling window. Enter or revise an End Date as necessary.
  6. The week day, start time, and end time default to the time slot you selected on the Scheduling window. Add or change these values as necessary. If this is a recurring class that takes place every-other week, select Alternate Week Scheduling.
  7. Enter payment information for this student using the Autopay, Type, and Only if payment is late by ___ Days boxes. If appropriate, enter credit card authorization information in the Credit Card/Type/Exp boxes or press Edit to do so on the Edit Credit Card Info window.
  8. Click Save.

Did you know? When you create a class "on the fly" from the Scheduling window a new class is added to the Class grid on the Maintain Class window. If you need to make changes to a class after you've created it, do so from the Maintain Class window.
